As the year comes to a close, Booker Group has announced the reshuffling of its board of directors and audit committee.

Bryn Satherley will step down as Group Operations Director next April, following 10 years with the British food wholesaler. Her successor will be Guy Farrant, who is currently Managing Director of Booker Wholesale.
Farrant will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer, while Satherley‘s other responsibilities will be split between members of the executive team.

“Bryn has done a brilliant job for Booker Group. He has decided to retire but will remain a good friend of Booker and we wish him all the very best in the future” said Booker Chief Executive Charles Wilson.

Further changes include the appointment of Gary Hughes, a senior member of the operational excellence team at Apax Partners as Booker‘s new Non-Executive Director. In addition, Hughes is Non-Executive Director of Premier Farnell, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, SECC and the Scottish Football Association. Other roles include Chief Financial Officer of Gala Coral Group and Finance Director of Emap.

“We are delighted to welcome Gary to the board. His extensive experience in finance and operational roles in a number of industries will provide a valuable addition to the Company as we continue our journey to focus, drive and broaden Booker” commented Booker Chairman Stewart Gilliland.

Hughes is set to join the audit and remuneration committee at Booker today. He will replace Andrew Cripps who has held the role of Booker‘s Non-Executive Director since November 2007. Cripps, who also chairs Booker‘s audit committee will step down from the board by the end of 2016. Hughes will succeed this role also.
