Asda‘s Chief of Ecommerce and Supply Chain Gavin Chappell is set to step down from his role, after six years with the Big Four grocer, to join home retailer Dunelm.

Chappell, who joined Asda in October 2009 as a Supply Chain Director, has had a largely successful run with the supermarket giant. CEO Andy Clarke said Chappell had “made a tremendous difference” to the business.

“While I‘m sorry to see Gavin go, I‘d like to thank him for his contribution to Asda” Clarke added.

While it is unclear whether a direct replacement will be assigned, David Lepley has taken on the role of Vice-President of Grocery Home Shopping Operations at Asda, following Chappell‘s departure.

Chappell will take on the new role of Supply Chain Director at Dunelm and will focus on the quality of the retailer‘s supply chain as it improves its multichannel offering.

Dunelm, the UK‘s leading home furnishings retailer recently reported a 4.8% increase in full-year pre-tax profits as store like-for-likes increased by 3.4%.
