Marks & Spencer has named David Guise as its new group HR director, who will be moving back to the UK after spending four years in Australia‘s retail sector.

Guise will replace Tanith Dodge, who left earlier this year to join Value Retail.

In Australia, Guise was HR director with grocery giant Woolworths, but prior to that he was group HR director at Home Retail Group between 2007 and 2012.

He has also held senior roles with Diageo and Ford Motor Company.

“We are pleased to confirm that David Guise is joining M&S as HR director in early October,” an M&S spokeswoman told Drapers.

“David has a wealth of HR experience and will be a great addition to the team.”
