The chief executive of The Original Factory Shop has resigned, with the chairman to assume the position on an interim basis.

Tony Page is stepping down with immediate effect from a role he held since 2013, and has been attributed to modernising the retailer and launching its “Tofs” brand.

Former Matalan chief executive and New Look chairman Alistair McGeorge, who joined Tofs as chairman last September, will lead the recruitment process for a new chief executive.

Prior to Tofs, Page held roles at Lloyds Pharmacy as managing director, commercial and marketing director at Woolworths as well as 11 years at Asda, where he worked his way up to commercial director for general merchandise.

McGeorge thanked Page for his contribution to Tofs.

He also said that after a review of the retailer‘s strategy, there was an opportunity for Tofs to be “even greater than ever”.
