Associated British Foods (ABF) has launched a search for a new chairman as Charles Sinclair stepped doqwn from an eight-year stint at the role, according to Sky News.

The parent company of discount fashion giant Primark has employed headhunter Spencer Stuart to seek potential candidates for Sinclair‘s replacement.

Non-executive directors within ABF are thought to be being considered alongside external candidates, but investors could potentially favour someone outside the company.

Sinclair, who previously ran the Daily Mail, has overseen continuous and healthy growth at the retailer during his time as chairman.
