Poundland has dramatically diversified its product offering by launching a new range of mattresses that will initially be available at 20 of its UK stores on a trial basis.
According to Retail Week, the discount retailer has teamed up with fellow Steinhoff fascia Bensons for Beds on the range which will have the Snooze brand name.
The vacuum-packed mattresses sell for £79 for a single size, or £99 for double.
Poundland said it wanted to see customer appetite for the range before it considers making a significant push into the homewares sector.
The news follows Poundland’s first push into multi-price in March and its roll out of Pep&Co fashion concessions.
