Notonthehighstreet hires Barrie Seidenberg as new CEO

Notonthehighstreet has appointed Barrie Seidenberg as its new chief executive, replacing Simon Belsham who departed last September.

A spokesperson for the online retailer has confirmed the news with Retail Gazette, and according to her LinkedIn profile Seidenberg has already stepped into her new role.

With over 20 years of executive-level management experience, Seidenberg is best known as the former chief executive of 11 years at online tourism marketplace Viator.

She stepped down in December 2016 and since then she has taken on advisory roles for various firms, including executive advisor for TripAdvisor.

Her appointment as the new Notonthehighstreet chief executive marks her first time at the head of a retailer.

The announcement also comes on the same week that her predecessor was named president of Walmart-owned ecommerce site Jet.com.

“Barrie brings with her a wealth of expertise from her time at Viator and TripAdvisor, not least her track record of growth and her deep understanding of both digital marketplaces and customer experience,” Notonthehighstreet chairman Darren Shapland said.

“Her strong leadership credentials and passion for working with small businesses makes her the perfect person to take Notonthehighstreet forward.”
