It is said that she will support True’s portfolio of consumer brands including women’s loungewear company Hush, kidswear label Frugi and cycling brand Ribble.
A spokeswoman for True told Retail Week said that d’Amato’s most recent roles at Notonthehighstreet during a period of rapid growth and while under private equity ownership, meant that she was uniquely placed to join the business.
True recently raised a new £275 million private equity fund and has become one of only a few investment firms globally to achieve B Corporation status.
