Zara is set to introduce augmented reality displays from April as part of efforts to lure millennials into its stores and increase footfall.
The technological push entails shoppers holding their smartphone up to a sensor within the store or designated shop windows to see models wearing selected looks from its ranges.
There will also be options for customers to click through to buy the clothes.
In addition, models can pop up on packages of online purchases delivered to customers, showing alternative outfits.
The augmented reality displays will be introduced in 120 Zara stores worldwide from April 18, parent company Inditex said.
Earlier today, the Spanish retail giant reported a seven per cent rise in net profit to €3.37 billion (£2.98 billion) for the full year period ending January 31, but like-for-like sales slowed down to five per cent.
