Maison Alaïa to open first UK store on Bond Street

Luxury fashion retailer Maison Alaïa opened its first standalone UK store on London’s Bond Street today.

Just months after the death of its eponymous founder Azzedine Alaïa, who was widely revered in the fashion community, the retailer has opened its first flagship outside of Paris.

The 6000sq ft store will span across three floors and stock the brands full range including shoes, bags, ready-to-wear as well as limited edition and couture by special appointment.

Its design was understood to have been overseen by the founder in its early stages, and according to his interior design collaborator Carla Sozzani is exactly the way he would have wanted it.

Maison Alaïa already trades from concessions in major department stores including Harrods and Selfridges.
