Balenciaga has opened its UK second store in west London after moving into Ermenegildo Zegna’s former retail unit.
The Spanish luxury brand opened its doors on Sloane Street in Chelsea and marked the occasion by featuring 30 customised signature leather shopping tote bags priced at £823 with “London” printed on it.
Balenciaga aims to expand its retail footprint, and the new store features creative director Demna Gvasalia’s “retail warehouse” concept.
It spans 4390sq ft over two floors and with grey industrial furniture, metal shelves and conveyor rails showcasing Balenciaga’s collections, and LED bars used to light up the floor.
Just recently, Fendi, Versace, Armani and Hermès relocated into larger spaces and introduced new retail concepts on Sloane Street, while Burberry plans to move to 1 Sloane Street next year.
