Burberry is hosting a Smart Works dressing session at its flagship store on London’s Regent Street to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The British luxury brand is organising capsule work wardrobes for seven of the British charity’s clients.

Burberry has worked with Smart Works since 2013 by donating its clothing, and the charity supports more than 13,000 women across the UK.

The charity also helps find employment for 60 per cent of women in need, mostly which are of ethnic minority, and aims to dress 3500 women this year across its two London offices.

Meanwhile, female photographer Esther Theaker captured portraits of the clients, creating a “powerful” image series released exclusively for International Women’s Day.

“Our partnership also contributes towards our efforts to revalue surplus stock, whilst supporting the communities around us,” Burberry chief merchandising officer Judy Collinson said.

Meanwhile, online retailer Ebay has undertaken a similar initiative teaming up with Dress for Success to help women achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools.
