// Ikea has confirmed March 28 as the opening date of its new Bromley planning studio
// The south-east London studio is in addition to the Tottenham Court Road store
// It will support and offer customisation to shoppers

Ikea has announced the opening date of its brand new planning studio in Bromley, south-east London.

The planning studio will open its doors to the public on March 28, and will be Ikea’s second such store following the successful launch of its Tottenham Court Road studio in October last year.

The studio will offer an itinerary as well as workshop space for customers who need to plan and order bedrooms and kitchens.

Visitors can also book one-on-one appointments for further assistance and receive customisation on products.

The new planning studio will be located at the former Mothercare and Early Learning Centre site on Bromley High Street.

Ikea also revealed that the Bromley studio can be used to host events, workshops, meetings and training sessions for up to 20 people at a time.

“Through the home visits in Bromley, we were able to gather local insights to ensure the new Planning Studio reflected the needs of the community,” Ikea London city centre market leader Jane Bisset said.

Meanwhile, the furniture giant opened a full-sized big-box format store in Greenwich last month which created 500 jobs.

Ikea said the new store “aims to take sustainability to the next level”.

The Greenwich branch is Ikea’s fourth full-sized London store after Wembley, Tottenham, and Croydon.

Ikea is currently exploring other locations in London to open new studios and improve accessibility.
