Amazon has been recognised as the world’s most valuable brand for the first time ever, beating Apple, Google and Microsoft.

The ecommerce giant has seen its brand value grow significantly over the past five years to $315.5 billion (£248 billion), according to the Kantar and WPP 2019 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands rankings.

Amazon’s success is thanks to its expansions, Alexa devices, and bricks & mortar concepts, with the company also expanding into grocery, healthcare, and food delivery.

Furthermore, Amazon’s other expansions include cloud computing, consumer tech and movie production.

Amazon Meanwhile, retailers that made it on the list of most valuable brands includes Alibaba, which came in at seventh place, with Disney in 17th place, Nike in 21st place and Louis Vuitton in 22nd place.
