Westfield “bucks the wider industry trend” with 6.4% footfall rise

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has reported a strong summer with almost eight million shoppers visiting its London destinations since the beginning of July.

The shopping centre giant posted a 6.4 per cent year-on-year uplift in footfall for the first six months of the year, with 39.72 million visitors across both centres.

Sales across Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City were up 7.1 per cent in the first half of 2019.

“Following a record 81.8 million visitors in 2018 across our London destinations, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City have continued to buck the wider industry trend, with a 6.4 per cent year-on-year uplift in footfall for the first half of 2019,” Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield chief marketing officer Europe & group director of brand and strategic marketing, Myf Ryan said.
