Ted Baker has poached Asos people director Peter Collyer to take on the role of chief people officer.

According to Drapers, Collyer will move to the upmarket menswear retailer on January 6.

He has been with Asos for four years, but before that he was senior vice-president of global human resources at US accessories retailer Claire’s from 2013 to 2015.

Prior to Clarie’s he spent 12 years at the Walt Disney Company in various senior HR roles and was a director of people and organisation development at Oasis from 1998 to 2001.

Collyer’s move to Ted Baker comes almost a year after an independent investigation into former chief executive Ray Kelvin’s conduct, which was conducted shortly after the retailer was embroiled in a #MeToo scandal.

When the investigation took place earlier this year, Ted Baker said it would renew and refresh all of its HR and workplace conduct training and policies.

Collyer’s appointment also comes several months after former B&Q people director and Jack Wills HR director Helena Feltham joined the Ted Baker board as an independent non-executive director.
