Kingfisher has announced the appointment of Sue Harries as group ecommerce director.
Harries joins from Screwfix, which is owned by Kingfisher, where she has served for 15 years, most recently as ecommerce director, where she is credited for being integral to the growth of its digital proposition.
During her time at Screwfix, online sales increased by 80 per cent and over a third of all Screwfix sales are now transacted online.

In her new role, a key part of her responsibilities will be to significantly drive ecommerce sales across the Kingfisher Group.
“We are always especially proud to promote colleagues from within the business, so I’m delighted to announce Sue’s new role,” Kingfisher chief digital officer JJ Van Oosten said.
“She has played a key part in growing Screwfix’s digital channels, and now the full Group will benefit from her drive and expertise.
“Sue is a great example of how we nurture talent at Kingfisher, rising through the ranks at Screwfix supported by leadership programmes and secondment opportunities.”
Harries said: “Our customers love shopping in our stores and online, so providing a seamless experience across all of our digital channels is really important.
“We achieved this at Screwfix and I’m excited to build on this success in my new group role.
“My priority is to create a diverse team with the right balance of skills and talent to drive our digital capabilities and ecommerce sales forward, together with our retail banners. I can’t wait to get started.”
Harries first joined Screwfix as a senior commercial finance manager in 2005.
Prior that, she started her career as a qualified accountant and held senior finance roles at Peacocks & AXA.
Harries move into the group ecommerce director role is effective from today.
