Primark is to extend and refurbish its store at Luton’s The Mall shopping centre.
Due to be completed this winter, the shop will have have 35,500 square feet of retail space and will aim to offer an enhanced shopping experience.
The building works will be phased to allow the store to remain open throughout the construction period.
The shop will be made almost 40 per cent bigger and customers will be able to shop more of Primark’s range of products made using sustainable, recycled, and organic materials, under its Primark Cares label.
Primark director of sales for the UK South and East, Philippa Nibbs said: “We are excited to be refurbishing and extending our store at The Mall to bring our customers a better shopping experience.”
“The addition of 9,800 square feet means we can offer even more of our amazing fashion at amazing prices to the people of Luton and the surrounding areas.”
The Mall Luton general manager, Roy Greening said: “We’re delighted to announce Primark will be extending their store size.”
“The last 18 months has proved difficult for the shopping centre industry, and we’re thrilled to announce we’ve welcomed six new stores here to The Mall since non-essential reopened 12 April.”
