Wickes has appointed Mohamed El Fanichi as its new chief information technology officer, effective from September 1.
The DIY retailer said this new role was created following the demerger of Wickes from Travis Perkins in April.
El Fanichi will report directly to Wickes chief executive David Wood and be a member of the executive committee.

El Fanichi joins from The Landmark Group UAE, where he has been chief information officer since March 2017.
Prior to that he held a number of technology and business systems leadership roles for B&Q parent company Kingfisher, where he worked from 2009 until 2017.
“Wickes has recently embarked on its journey as a standalone business and I’m delighted that Mohamed is joining us at this very exciting time,” Wood said.
“We pride ourselves on being a digitally-led, service-enabled business and this is a critical role for us as we build on our strengths and accelerate our digital capabilities.
