Bensons for Beds appoints chief commercial officer

Bensons for Beds has hired its interim chief commercial officer Mark Slater on a permenant basis.

Slater, who joined in February, will be responsible for the retailer’s commercial, marketing, digital and services teams, alongside product innovation and new business development with a key focus on growing the brands’ sales and overall market share.

Prior to Bensons, he established the first commercial team at kitchen maufacturer Howdens where he led the redesign and reinvigoration of the company’s product proposition, depot and customer pricing structure, accelerating new product sales and significantly improving promotional impact.

Slater has also held a number of senior commercial roles at Travis Perkins, Currys and The Walt Disney Company amongst others.
