Next has officially launched its new womenswear brand, Friends Like These.

Soft-launched in August 2021, Friends Like These has been described by the retailer as “a feminine, trend relevant brand”, designed to cater to “fashion aware” 25 to 50 year old women.

The range will be available exclusively on Next’s website and comprises midi- and maxi-dresses, skirts, cardigans, jeans and tops. Sizes range from 8 to 20 in “most” styles, and this will be expanded as the collections grow.

A new design and buying team was hired for the brand, while some team members moved from Lipsy departments.

There are currently around 20 team members in buying, design and merchandising departments across the Friends Like These teams.

Next bought Lipsy in 2008 for £17m and the Lipsy PR team will be managing the PR for the brand, including all press activity, influencer engagement and events.

This new brand follows the launch of Next’s own skincare brand called Woah which released last month as the retailer expands its beauty business.

There are 16 vegan-friendly skincare products, including serums, micellar water, cleansers, creams, toner, hydrating mask and cleansing balm.
