Cos enters wholesale business for the first time

For the first time in its 15-year history, Cos is expanding into the wholesale business, with three new partnerships with Yoox, Nordstrom and German department store Breuninger.

Cos, which is owned by H&M Group, will launch on Yoox’s online channel in September and will be available to buy across all of its live markets.

While Nordstrom will start selling Cos products in five of its New York-area locations on September 13th, coinciding with New York Fashion Week.

The fashion retailer will also launch with Breuninger’s online platform in early October, making it available to buy across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Poland.

Cos managing director Lea Rytz Goldman said: “Expanding into wholesale has been in discussion for a while, but now the timing feels right.

“We know the retail landscape is changing and we need to meet our customers – new and existing – beyond our owned channels, by partnering with best-in-class multi-brand retailers who complement our DNA. This will enable us to engage and inspire customers in more places.”

Cos operates 12 brick-and-mortar stores in the US and opened its first London store in 2007, followed by the launch of its online store in 2011.
