Re:store has acquired online personal shopping platform Trouva for an undisclosed sum.

The marketplace focused on indie bricks-and-mortar boutiques said the purchase would “help bridge the gap between online and offline independent retailers”.

Trouva, which launched in 2015, currently partners with over 650 independent boutiques across Europe on its sales platform and ships to 38 countries worldwide.

Re:store chief executive Jon Reynolds said:We’re excited by the opportunity to acquire Trouva and introduce our social commerce technology to Trouva’s fantastic boutiques and brands.

“We believe the future lies in enabling deeper connection and community online with authentic and passionate sellers, like those on the Trouva marketplace,” he said.

“We look forward to working with the Trouva team on delivering this shared vision and providing a fresh experience for independent retailers and their customers.”

The online marketplace was previously purchased by Made.com in May last year before the furniture retailer fell into administration in November, leaving the future of the platform in question.
