Asos has appointed Sean Glithero as its interim chief financial officer, as the struggling retailer continues its search for a permanent finance boss.
Glithero will replace current interim CFO Katy Mecklenburgh, who is expected to depart in May.
The online fashion retailer said Glithero had already joined the business, to allow for a “thorough handover”, until a permanent successor is appointed.

Asos’ new CEO José Antonio Ramos Calamonte, who joined last year, pledged to “refresh the culture” with a turnaround plan as the retailer’s sales flatline.
As set out in Asos’ full year results on 19 October, a reinforced leadership and refreshed culture are core enablers of the company’s strategy.
Over the last four months, Asos has worked on building “a stronger new Leadership Team with greater depth in critical areas” to simplify the decision-making processes.
This 12-person team covers Creative, Product, Trading, Supply Chain, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, People and Communications, and will be focused on the delivery of the Driving Change initiatives.
Asos has now filled 75% of these roles through a balanced combination of internal talent and key strategic hires and will provide a full update at its interim results.
The retailer added that Glithero is a highly experienced CFO with a track record of delivery across a range of digital and fashion businesses.
Glithero was most recently the chief financial officer at fellow online retailer Matchesfashion, where he spent almost two years.
The appointment comes two days after Matchesfashion appointed former Asos global brand creative director John Mooney as executive creative director.
Mecklenburgh has been interim CFO at Asos for the last year and is set to join the board of IT infrastructure provider Softcat as their finance chief.
