Superdry has appointed Hotel Chocolate‘s chief marketing officer and executive director Lysa Hardy to its board as an independent non-executive director.

Due to take up her position from 1 May, the fashion retailer said Hardy has extensive marketing experience across roles in the technology and retail sectors, including private equity and international roles, and is a specialist in multichannel, consumer brands, customer relationship management and loyalty

She has also previously held executive roles at T-Mobile, Holland & Barrett and Joules, and was previously a non-executive director of Russian-focused commercial property business Raven Property Group.

Superdry chair of board Peter Sjölander said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Lysa as our new non-executive director. Her depth of experience in digital marketing and global business transformation will enhance the Board’s skillset as we continue to deliver on our strategic objectives.”

Last month Superdry boss Julian Dunkerton dismissed rumours he is seeking deals to take the fashion retailer private, following media reports he was considering that move.

He reassured investors and said he has “no plans to do this at the moment”.

The comments come after reports emerged in early December that Dunkerton was mulling a potential buyout, holding talks with private equity firms.
