Until a successor is appointed, Clarks’ chief executive Jonathan Ram, who took up the post last April will head up the UK and Ireland team.
A Clarks spokesperson said: “Clarks can confirm that after a successful period with the business, Joe Alloa has stepped down from his role as managing director for the UK, ROI & MEA and has left Clarks. CEO Jon Ram is leading the UK & Ireland team in the interim period as Clarks recruits Joe’s replacement.”
At the start of the year Clarks teamed up with the world’s biggest fashion retailer, Zara for a collaboration which saw both its classic Wallabee and Dessert Boot reinvented.
Zara said one of the key elements of the collection, which features men’s, women’s and kidswear options, has been “the interpretation of the iconic models by using chunky crepe soles to make it unique”.
