// JD Sports names BGL Group’s Dominic Platt as its new chief financial officer
// Platt’s will replace Neil Greenhalgh, who is stepping down after four years
JD Sports has confirmed the appointment of BGL Group chief financial officer Dominic Platt as its new finance boss following reports earlier this week.
Platt will replace Neil Greenhalgh, who is stepping down from his role after four years. Greenhalgh’s decision came after JD Sports reported a first-half profits drop due to inflationary pressures.
The latest appointment will complete the retailer’s overhaul of its top executive team.

Platt’s appointment reunites him with chief executive Régis Schultz. The pair worked together at French electricals retailer Darty.
Platt is also currently a non-executive director and chair of Audit & Risk committee for N Brown Group.
JD Sports revealed on Tuesday it was in exclusive talks to acquire French-based retailer Groupe Courir for £450m.
