David Gandy Wellwear has entered into a partnership with retail entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Touker Suleyman, with the aim of accelerating its commercial growth.
The partnership will focus on four key areas: scaling the brand’s direct-to-consumer platform, strengthening product development, building a wholesale distribution strategy, and expanding its UK and international reach.
Suleyman, founder and chief executive of Low Profile Holdings, said the brand had established a “credible and differentiated position” in the menswear market.
“David represents today’s man, the guy you can relate to, and his knowledge of the menswear industry is unrivalled,” he said.
“David Gandy Wellwear has established a credible and differentiated position in the menswear market, with a clear customer proposition and capacity to scale.
“My involvement underscores our belief in the brand’s growth potential, and my commitment to supporting British fashion businesses with genuine commercial headroom, and Wellwear is precisely that.”
David Gandy Wellwear was founded in 2021 by the British model and entrepreneur, and sits between performance apparel and everyday menswear.
The brand uses fabric technology with wellbeing properties including anti-odour, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, moisturising and UV-protective treatments across natural fibres.
Its range spans 12 categories, including t-shirts, loungewear, pyjamas, swimwear and coordinated sets.
Gandy, founder and creative director of the brand, said Suleyman’s backing marked “an exciting new chapter” for the business.
“The support of such an experienced and knowledgeable partner with his operational expertise, industry relationships and commercial instinct is a defining moment for the business,” he said.
“This partnership gives us the infrastructure and strategic support to execute our growth plans at pace and extend our reach significantly.”
David Gandy Wellwear announced its launch as a third-party brand on Marks & Spencer earlier this year.
The business said it has recorded 116 per cent revenue growth since 2023, while its active customer base now spans more than 67 countries.
Its most recent category launch, underwear, sold out within five days.
The brand has also previously worked with Hackett London and Jaguar TCS Racing.
Suleyman brings experience in scaling British menswear businesses, having acquired Hawes & Curtis for £1 in 2002 while taking on its debts.
Under his ownership, the shirtmaker grew turnover from £300,000 to nearly £70m and expanded from one Jermyn Street store to more than 20 UK shops.
