HMV Oxford Street is hosting an event day to celebrate the release of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day film on 29 July.

The event, which will run on 23 July, will see shoppers greeted by a costumed Spider-Man for a “selfie moment” upon entering the shop.

The retailer’s store will also feature a curated selection of Marvel products, including t-shirts, collectibles, figurines, graphic novels and films.

On the store’s first floor, customers will be able to play a Funko Spin game, with prizes ranging from full-size Funko Pop! to bag charms.

On the top floor, the HMV Bookshop will be taken over for an “exclusive green screen photo moment,” allowing shoppers to star in their own comic book moment.

Additionally, shoppers will be able to sign up for a chance to be one of 60 people to win a pair of tickets to see the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film before its official release at an exclusive HMV screening in London on 28 July.

The entertainment and music brand will offer an exclusive goody bag to customers who spend £10 or more on Spider-Man or Marvel-related merchandise during the event.

HMV managing director Phil Halliday said: “At HMV, we are passionate about creating unforgettable, immersive experiences for the community.

“By teaming up with Sony Pictures, we’re giving fans the chance to step directly into the world of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.

“We can’t wait to welcome fans of all ages through our doors for what promises to be a spectacular day.”
