Skims bolsters C-suite with Supreme creative chief amid global expansion

Kim Kardashian-founded fashion brand Skims has extended its senior leadership team with two newly created C-suite roles.

The brand has appointed former Supreme executive Erin Magee as its first chief design officer and promoted long-standing creative director Kim Schraub to chief brand officer. The appointments took effect on 24 August.

Magee joins Skims after spending more than two decades at streetwear giant Supreme, where she most recently served as chief creative officer.

During her tenure, she oversaw areas spanning design, product development and product strategy across apparel, accessories and collaborations. She also founded women’s streetwear label MadeMe in 2007.

In her new position, Magee will lead Skims’ design and creative product direction as the business pushes further into new categories and markets.

Skims co-founder and chief executive Jens Grede said Magee’s design expertise and understanding of consumers made her the “right person to lead Skims into its next era”.

Meanwhile, Schraub has worked with Skims since before its launch in 2019 and has played a key role in shaping its creative identity.

The executive, who previously worked at Yeezy, Victoria’s Secret Pink and Abercrombie & Fitch, will now oversee how the Skims brand is presented across retail, marketing campaigns, collaborations and storytelling, bringing its creative and commercial functions closer together.

The leadership reshuffle comes as Skims accelerates its transformation from a digitally-led shapewear business into a global omnichannel fashion brand.

The company secured $225m in fresh funding in November last year, valuing the business at $5bn. At the time, Skims said the investment would be used to accelerate its physical retail and international expansion as well as product innovation and category growth. It also said 2025 net sales were expected to top $1bn.

Its international push has gathered pace this summer. Skims opened its first standalone UK flagship on London’s Regent Street in July, taking a 12,000sq ft former Ted Baker unit, and last week unveiled plans for a second UK store at Westfield London, which is due to open early next year.

Skims is also entering India through a partnership with Reliance Brands, with stores planned for Delhi and Mumbai, while further launches are lined up for Hong Kong and Seoul.

Alongside its retail expansion, Skims is broadening its reach in sportswear through NikeSKIMS, which this year expanded globally with new apparel, accessories and footwear.
