Asda is offering free private flu vaccinations on 14 September, with up to 6,000 appointments available nationwide.
Anyone who books an appointment through the Asda online booking system and receives their flu vaccination on 14 September will be able to get their flu jab free of charge at one of 242 Asda Pharmacies.
It comes as millions of adults fall outside the eligibility criteria to receive a free NHS flu vaccination from 1 October and would usually pay for the service, according to the supermarket.
Customers can book their free flu vaccination appointment by visiting the Asda Pharmacy booking page and selecting the Asda flu service.
The free vaccination offer is available exclusively to shoppers who book ahead through the company’s online booking system and attend their scheduled flu vaccination appointment on 14 September.
Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Asda Pharmacy’s health care services manager Richard Harrison, said: “Our free flu jab service is about removing barriers and making it easier than ever for people to protect themselves and those around them.
“We’re proud to be able to help people access flu vaccinations more easily, giving them one less thing to worry about as we head into the colder months.
“We’re expecting strong demand, so we’d encourage anyone interested to book their appointment now.”
He continued: “By offering up to 6,000 free vaccinations in a single day, we’re helping more people access convenient healthcare in their local community.
“But don’t worry, for those who miss out on the opportunity we still have great value all year round on vaccinations.”
