Battersea Power Station has welcomed its 50 millionth visitor, less than four years after the shopping centre opened its doors to the public in October 2022.
The milestone represents the transformation of Battersea Power Station from a building that stood empty for nearly four decades into “one of London’s leading retail, leisure, cultural, residential and office destinations,” the business said.
To celebrate, the retail destination is offering visitors on 1 October the chance to win prizes from brands including Dishoom, Anthropologie, Heartcore, Waterstones, Crosstown Doughnuts and Läderach.
Prizes will also include tickets to The Chimney Lift, Ramses and the Pharaohs’ Gold at Neon, and ice rink Glide at Battersea Power Station.
Additionally, Battersea Power Station is welcoming more brands to the centre, which are set to open before the end of the year.
These include Virgin Atlantic Holidays, which will open a new flagship store inside the centre later this year.
Mango is also expanding its presence, moving into a larger unit and bringing Mango Man to the shopping centre.
Battersea Power Station development company CEO James Saunders said: “Welcoming our 50 millionth visitor is an incredible milestone for Battersea Power Station.
“The fact that millions of people now come here to shop, eat, work and live is testament to the extraordinary transformation that has taken place.
“The arrival of another wave of exciting brands reflects the continued confidence in Battersea Power Station and what we are creating here.”
He continued: “These new openings will add even more to the breadth and quality of the experience, giving people new reasons to visit and return.
“This milestone is even more significant given we are only around halfway through delivering the wider masterplan.
“There is so much more to come as we shape the next chapter of Battersea Power Station.”
