Pop Mart is opening a new store at Eldon Square shopping centre on 16 October, with the site marking the toy brand’s first Newcastle shop.

The new 1,000 sq ft store adds a “distinctive new dimension” to Eldon Square’s retail offer, according to the retail destination.

The launch also reflects Eldon Square’s “continued focus on attracting brands that are shaping consumer culture”.

The store will sell a full selection of Pop Mart’s IP characters, including Skullpanda, Hirono, Dimoo and The Monsters, featuring Labubu, alongside a range of collectible figures, plush toys and lifestyle products.

Pop Mart head of retail UK and Ireland Ian Ashton said: “Opening in Newcastle marks another exciting milestone in Pop Mart’s continued growth across the UK.

“The North East has an incredible energy and a passionate community who already know and love our characters and Ips, making Newcastle a natural next step for us.”

He continued: “Eldon Square gives us a fantastic opportunity to bring the full Pop Mart experience closer to our existing fans, while introducing the brand to a whole new audience.

“We’re incredibly excited to open our doors, become part of Newcastle’s vibrant retail community, and build a lasting connection with the city and our customers across the North East.”

Pradera director of asset management Bernice Nesham added: “Pop Mart’s decision to open its first Newcastle store at Eldon Square is a significant addition to the centre’s evolving retail offer.

“The brand has built an exceptionally engaged global following, and its arrival further strengthens our ability to connect with younger consumers and digitally engaged audiences.

“We look forward to welcoming the brand’s immersive store experience to our evolving lineup of brands.”
