Sportswear giant On has joined forces with tech firm Verity to transform its warehouse operations with AI and robotics.

Under the partnership, fully autonomous drones are used in the brand’s warehouses to enable full operational visibility via smart, real-time inventory tracking, minimising stockouts, misplacements, and shrinkage across its supply chain.

The activewear company, which opened its second UK store last year, insisted this ensured flawless order fulfillment for its retail and ecommerce.

It added that the partnership delivered business value by improving product availability across On’s stores and online, and would enable more on-time and accurate deliveries.

The technology is already live at the retailer’s US facility, with Verity’s drones scanning On products daily to ensure full availability of stock for customer fulfillment.

It claimed this was already improving its key performance indicators and was lowering CO2 emissions linked to Its warehousing.

On co-founder and executive co-chairman Caspar Coppetti said: “Verity is a pioneering brand in the field of AI and robotics, and a perfect fit with On’s values of harnessing innovation for the benefit of the customer experience.

“By leveraging innovative technological solutions, we aim to improve our operations’ efficiency further, become a more sustainable brand, and take customer satisfaction to new heights.”
