Joules has revealed that Colin Porter is due to step down as chief executive after serving five years with the British retailer.

Porter will resign before the end of the retailer’s 2019/20 financial year.

Joules said Porter’s fixed resignation date remains unknown but added that the timing of the announcement “ensures that there is sufficient time to ensure a smooth transition to his successor”.

Chairman Ian Filby said: “Colin has made a truly outstanding contribution to Joules since joining the business in 2010.

“During his tenure, Joules has achieved fantastic growth both in the UK and internationally.

“Joules has a committed, experienced and highly skilled executive management team who, along with Colin’s successor, will continue to focus on expanding Joules as a leading lifestyle brand.”

A successor for Porter has not yet been found

.The retailer reported a surge in profits and sales in the first year, with underlying pre-tax profits climbing 34 per cent to £10.1 million in the 52 weeks to May 28, 2017.
