Primark product operations director steps down

// Primark’s product operations director Andrew Reaney resigns
// He will leave September 13

Primark’s product operations director has announced his resignation just as the value retailer prepares to relocate its UK-based product operations to its Dublin headquarters.

Andrew Reaney, who has been in the role since February last year, is set to exit Primark on September 13.

He first joined the retailer in 2011.

According to Drapers, the resignation was announced internally yesterday.

“We confirm Andrew Reaney is leaving Primark after eight successful years,”a Primark spokesman told Drapers.

“We would like to thank him for his valued contribution and wish him every success for the future.”

Earlier this year, Primark announced plans to move 220 UK-based roles from across various product-focused teams to its Irish headquarters.

The value retailer said it would affect buying, merchandising, design, quality and sourcing operations staff in its Reading office.

It added that the redeployment to the Dublin head office would begin this month.

Prior the team relocation, Primark’s buying, merchandising, design, quality and sourcing operations were split between the UK and Ireland.

The changes will see an amalgamation of the roles within the retailer’s Dublin head office.

Primark said the affected 220 staff members would be offered the opportunity to work in Dublin and its Reading office will remain open with around 270 staff.
