At the time, Brandolese was given the responsibility of day-to-day management of the online British fashion retailer, driving its global expansion and overseeing its commercial strategy and relationships with global luxury brands.

Prior to Net-A-Porter, he has served as the chief executive of luxury footwear retailer Giuseppe Zanotti.

He was also the group executive for luxury conglomerate LVMH, working on major programmes for its stable of luxury brands including Fendi.

Prior experience also includes senior leadership roles with eyewear retailer Luxottica, where he was group president for global retail, as well as chief digital officer.

Retail Gazette has contacted YNAP for comment.

Separately, rubber Wellington boot and footwear retailer Hunter hired Net-a-Porter co-founder and luxury retail veteran Claudia Plant to take on the role of chief marketing officer.

Plant, who has over 25 years of experience in retail, joined Hunter on Tuesday, reporting into interim chief executive Paolo Porta.

At Hunter, Plant will be tasked with shaping the retailer and brand’s positioning while also being responsible for delivering Hunter’s global marketing and communication strategy and driving its transformation.
