Poundland extends Free From range to more than 300 stores

// Poundland to roll out its Free From range to more than 300 stores across the UK
// The range aims to help people with food allergies & intolerances without needing to buy them from specialist health food shops
// The range will also be available for online ordering for those in a pilot delivery area

Poundland has announced plans to roll out its Free From range to more than 300 stores across the UK, following a successful trial in selected stores over recent months.

Made up of more than 30 items, Poundland said the Free From range was selected based on helping people who live with food allergies and intolerances and in the past were only able to buy these types of products in specialist health food shops.

Items include dairy-free and gluten-free items such as bread and rolls, porridge, milk, biscuits, cakes, rice, snack bars, pretzels and vegan latte sachets, from leading brands such as Alpro, Eat Natural, Nakd, Schär and Trek.

Poundland said the rollout includes stores across England, from the South West to the North East, Wales and Scotland.

The 300-plus stores to get the new ranges will also have a dedicated Free From bay.

Ranges will also be available for online ordering at poundliand.co.uk/shop for those in a pilot delivery area.

The news follows a successful trial at 16 stores launched last July, which the discount retailer said was “enthusiastically welcomed” by customers.

“Our pilot scheme showed just how much awareness there is about Free From foods such as dairy-free and gluten-free and how important they are to people with allergies and intolerances,” Poundland head of FMCG trading Glyn Hughes said.

“They want to be able to buy them as part of their regular shop and now customers at hundreds of our stores will be able to pop them in their basket at Poundland’s amazing prices.”
