UK-based online fashion brand Very.co.uk has today launched its services internationally as it attempts to tap into the global popularity of British fashion.

Focusing primarily on the US and Canadian markets, Very.com will sell to 49 countries across Europe and North America with the retailer aiming for a maximum delivery time of five days, which will be free for orders over $98 (£63) and with no charge for returns.

Shop Direct Group, owner of the Very brand along with fellow retail websites Littlewoods.com and Isme.com, has been looking to expand the reach of its service in recent months and at the beginning of November unveiled a celebrity-focused advertising campaign for the festive season.

Gareth Jones, Group Retail Director for Shop Direct, said: “We are hugely excited about our launch into America and a further 48 countries.

“We are continuing to grow our business through the development of customer-focused brands and, with Very.com added to our portfolio, we are able to apply the knowledge we gained from the success of our home-grown brands to the American marketplace, giving those customers that same great experience.”

Much like in the UK, Very will be working with a number of celebrities in the US to promote the brand, including star of the reality shows The Hills and The City Whitney Port.

Brand ambassadors and guest designers for its UK operations include TV presenters Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby, as well as pop star Diana Vickers.

Jones continued: “We have joined forces with People‘s Revolution, one of America‘s most innovative agencies, to ensure Very.com is highly visible to the US press and consumers alike. In addition, we have enjoyed working with Whitney and are looking forward to other great collaborations in the future.

“We have taken our time to understand what our American customers want and have made every effort to package our offer to suit them, whilst adding a very British flavour.”
