Online retailer Littlewoods today announced it is set to sponsor Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s new talent show for ITV entitled ‘Superstar‘.

Sponsorship, which extends to online and mobile, will commence with a commercial on the launch show this Saturday July 7th 2012.

Leading media planning and buying group Carat negotiated the deal with ITV on behalf of Littlewoods.

It will follow the mogul on his search to find a rock superstar for the tour of his new legendary rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar which will open at the O2 arena.

Amanda Holden has been given the role of host with Dawn French and Jason Donovan joining Webber on the judging panel.

In recent reporting, Littlewoods announced record sales for its online channel due to the live launch of its exclusive collection by Laurence Llewelyn – Bowen.

Auditions have already taken place up and down the country to find a suitable person to fulfill the role.
