Luxury brand Burberry won the Innovation award at the Internet Retailing Awards for creating the most inventive retail solution at last nights awards-do held at SUSHISAMBA in the Heron Tower.

ASOS took home the International prize sponsored by MetaPack, which recognises them as ‘a pioneer of international expansion‘.

Speaking at the awards, co-founder of Internet Retailing, Mark Pigou, said: “The competition for excellence in online retail is extremely fierce with so many forward thinking and innovative brands. “Tonight has been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of brands that are shaping the ecommerce landscape.”

Other winners included Tesco who won the Global Award category and EBay who picked up the coveted M-Retailing Award..

The UK e-commerce market has grown rapidly since 2006 according to data from IMRG and looks set to have an ever increasing on the retail landscape for years to come.
