Mehul Tank has been appointed to the role of chief financial officer of women’s fashion retailer Hobbs.

Tank begins his work with the UK-based, international retailer immediately, and takes over from Simon Luscombe who is now heading up Hobbs’ omnichannel trading.

Tank has 20 years of finance and operations experience for omnichannel consumer brands around the world.

Hobbs chief executive Meg Lustman said: “[Mehul Tank] joins us with a wealth of experience from a number of private equity-backed organisations in Europe and the United States, and brings valuable expertise having worked with several international retailers.”

Established in 1981 in Hampstead, north London, Hobbs now has 140 stores across the UK and Ireland, concessions in the US, and serves customers in 55 countries via online.

Among its best-known customers are the Princess Catherine and her sister, Pippa Middleton.

“It is a privilege to be part of a quintessential British brand that puts its customer at its core,” Tank said.

“I am excited to join Hobbs and look forward to working with the team to ensure it is financially well positioned as it scales up its international growth.”
