The developers behind Leeds‘ highly anticipated Victoria Gate shopping centre has confirmed Thursday, October 20 as the day it will open its doors to the public for the first time.

The £165 million shopping centre, developed by Hammerson, will be anchored by John Lewis and features retailers such as Russell & Bromley, Aspinal of London, GANT, Hackett and Tommy Hilfiger.

The shopping centre is already 74 per cent pre-let and also features dining and leisure spaces.

Victoria Gate will also become part of the new 575,000 sq ft Victoria Estate shopping district, which includes Leeds‘ Victoria Quarter arcades.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds council leader Judith Blake said the opening comes at “the optimum time for shoppers and retailers in the pre-Christmas period”.

“It will add to the already superb mix of shops and traders in the area who, with the variety and vibrancy they represent together, make Leeds a truly unrivalled retail experience,” she said.
