Asda has been crowned one of the UK‘s top retailers for apprentice employment in the Centrica Top 100 Apprentice Employer list.

The grocer was awarded the Marco Apprentice Employer of the Year award at the National Apprenticeship awards last week, making it the only member of the Big 4 to garner a place on the list.

“We are delighted to be included on Centrica‘s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer List,” Asda senior director Kate Fisher said.

“We take pride in recognising that each candidate is unique and looking to develop different skills and we are pleased to see the breadth of our apprenticeship offering benefitting so many of our candidates, enabling them to build a future at Asda.

“We look forward to providing further support for more colleagues to grow, develop and enhance their confidence and skills in their own unique way.”

This award comes just weeks after the retailer was voted the UK‘s cheapest supermarket by consumer group Which? as well as earning a place on Stonewall‘s LGBT inclusive list, jumping from 83rd place to 25th in just a year.
