Asda, DFS and Harrods have all just been recognised as three of the UK‘s top 78 employers on the Top Employers Institute‘s annual list of Certified Top Employers.
The three companies are the only retailers to have been honoured with the international accolade, announced by the Top Employers Institute at a ceremony dinner held in London last night.
The Certified Top Employers list recognises companies‘ efforts in people management and its commitment to professional career development opportunities while improving the working environment for colleagues.
The recognition is the latest Asda has racked up in recent months, which includes being one of the only most LGBT-inclusive retailers in the UK according to Stonewall and a prestigious apprentice employer of the year award.

Asda‘s Certified Top Employer win was attributed to its commitment to an open and inclusive culture and the support and development opportunities.
It‘s also the fourth year running that the Big 4 grocer has received a Top Employers Institute UK Certification and the second year the company was featured in Stonewall‘s Top 100 Most Inclusive Employers in Britain.
“The fact the [Top Employers Institute] is aware we provide an outstanding colleague experience, with high quality initiatives that engage, reward and motivate is great,” Asda senior employee engagement manager Carl Tabisz said.
“We are working closely with our colleagues to ensure we have the relevant support practices in place and look forward to another year of working together.”
