Online marketplace Etsy has announced a new chief financial officer following Kristina Salen‘s departure at the end of March.

Rachel Glaser will start her new role after June 1 and will take on responsibility for overseeing the global financial operations.

She will report directly to Etsy‘s chief executive Chad Dickerson.

Glaser comes from a role as chief financial officer at the Lead Group, where she is attributed to aiding the expansion of its global marketplace.

Prior to this, she was senior vice president of operations at Yahoo, as well as chief financial officer at Move.

“Rachel has a long track record of success as a senior finance executive and has gained broad experience across a variety of consumer-facing, publicly-traded companies,” Dickerson said.

“She has also helped scale marketplaces that empower artisans around the world.

“Rachel not only possesses the right skills to take Etsy’s financial operations to the next level, but she also brings a passion for furthering the Etsy mission and nurturing our vibrant community.

“I look forward to Rachel’s contributions as we continue to execute on our strategy that we believe will deliver long-term value to all of our stakeholders.”
