Electricals retailer Maplin has named former Amazon managing director Robin Terrell as its non-executive director.
Terrell boasts an extensive retail career, including roles as director at Amazon UK, John Lewis, Tesco, House of Fraser and Karen Millen.
He departed from his role as chief customer officer at Tesco last August and has since acted as non-executive director to William Hill, Karen Millen and Wilko, the latter of which he returned to last November.

“It is a further validation of our strategy and ambitious plans for future growth that we can attract someone of Robin‘s exceptional calibre and experience,” Maplin chairman Darren Shapland said.
“As the retail landscape continues to change, it is imperative that we utilise the best brains in the industry.
“During Robin‘s 18 year retail career, he has worked at the forefront of this change, including building successful multichannel businesses for some of the leading traditional brands and helping them become truly multichannel.”
