// M&S taps Amazon Fashion general manager Nishi Mahajan as its new director of third-party brands
// She will join the department store retailer‘s clothing and home leadership team in mid-April
Marks & Spencer has named Amazon Fashion general manager Nishi Mahajan as director of third-party brands at the business, Drapers reports.
Mahajan has spent six years at Amazon, the last two and a half in the general manager role and has been responsible for the online retailer’s growth strategy in its EU private label and footwear division.
She will join the department store retailer‘s clothing and home leadership team in mid-April, and will report to the managing director of clothing and home Richard Price, replacing Neil Harrison who left M&S at the end of last year.

Mahajan said: “Having watched M&S closely from the outside, I’ve seen the transformation that’s been underway and cannot wait to be part of the team driving this change.
“It’s clear that brands play a key role in the M&S future, as a leading omni-channel retailer, and I look forward to developing a platform offer that is more attractive to both our customers and brand partners.”
M&S hailed strong Christmas trading for 2022, posting record food sales and its highest clothing and home market share for seven years.
The retailer saw a 6.3% rise in like-for-like sales across its food halls in the 13 weeks to December 31, with its largest Christmas sales of more than £80 million on December 23.
