Kate Spade opens first store outside London

Luxury accessories brand Kate Spade has opened its first standalone store outside of London at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.

The New York-based retailer’s new 1600sq ft store marks its fifth UK branch, replacing Aspinal of London which downsized to a 1300sq ft unit at Bluewater.

“The premium retail experience provided by Kate Spade New York extends Bluewater’s appeal among affluent guests,” Bluewater co-owner and asset manager Robert Hardie said.

“This latest opening joins a stellar line-up of aspirational and premium brands within the scheme.

“The launch clearly shows strong demand from high-end US brands to secure a foothold in Bluewater, following in the footsteps of Michael Kors and Coach.”
