Burberry announces new board members

Burberry has announced that Orna NiChionna has been appointed to the board as a new non-executive director.

She will also become a member of the remuneration and nomination committees.

Burberry said the appointments were made with immediate effect.

On February 6, NiChionna will replace Fabiola Arredondo as chair of the remuneration committee.

She is currently senior independent director at Saga and Royal Mail, as well as deputy chairman at the National Trust.

NiChionna also has previous experience with music and entertainment retailer HMV Group, where she was senior independent director.

“In addition to the experience she brings on remuneration matters, her strong UK plc and business experience will be a great asset to Burberry as we continue to focus on delivering long-term shareholder value,” Burberry chairman Sir John Peace said.
